Dilan B.

Resident Manager
Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort

I started at Anantara Maldives as Training Manager in 2011. In 2013, I moved to Dubai to open the first property there - Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort. During 2014 and 2015, I was invited to open the Banana Island Resort & Spa by Anantara in Doha as Task Force Team Leader. I then returned to my home country, Sri Lanka in the role of Cluster Training Manager. Subsequently, I was promoted to Room Division Manager and Operations Manager at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort.

During the Endeavour learning journey, I learned to follow a time schedule, how to prioritise tasks and the importance of taking personal responsibility for making things happen. We reflected on our successes and areas to improve

Minor Hotels is for people who have passion and commitment. The company provides an incredible opportunity to grow your career.

Resort Manager
Avani+ Samui

My career with Minor Hotels began in 2014 as Director of Rooms for the pre-opening of Avani Seychelles Barbarons. A year and a half later, I had the opportunity to join Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas as Executive Assistant Manager, a role I held for almost two years. I moved in October 2017 to join a new project with the pre-opening team of Sunset Coast Samui, soon to be rebranded as Avani+ Samui.

I have always been excited about the opportunities available at Minor, the chance to grow, the fact that people believe in you, push you and give you a chance to take the next step.

There is a real focus on people development and career growth. The Horizon programme is a great example of this. I tend to learn from the people around me, no matter their status or position within the company; there is always something good to learn and take back and I had many opportunities to do this through the projects I undertook during my learning journey.

General Manager
Anantara Quy Nhon Villas

I have evolved with Minor Hotels since I joined the group in 2013. My career path has been diverse, challenging, and rewarding; it allowed me to be continuously engaged and align entirely with our values, which are essentially the recipe to our success.

The Horizon programme was an eye opening experience throughout its nine months as I went through all possible outcomes of projects, from failures to successes. One aspect it demonstrated is that even if some of your initiatives do not have the desired outcomes, you learn not to give up on an idea and to keep trying with a different approach. The success of this leadership journey belongs to your team as much as to you; everyone benefits from it.
